Repairing Your Smile
Dental work may be required to repair the damage, infection or cavity when a tooth or teeth become significantly compromised.
To strengthen the tooth or teeth, as well as provide a better cosmetic appearance, further dental work may then be needed.
Dr Johnson knows that crowns, fillings, bridges, implants and false teeth all have important roles to play in dental restoration
of your smile. Dr. Johnson can help you discover the many options available to repair your smile while taking into consideration
your entire mouth, including your bite. As a result, your teeth will not only
look beautiful but will function optimally, as well. Dr. Johnson and his caring
team use the latest technology to create beautiful and healthy smiles! We are
pleased to offer our patients the following services in a friendly and
comfortable environment.
Metal Free Crowns
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring
it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure
that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. There
are many reasons for a crown including broken or fractured teeth, severally
decayed teeth, and teeth that have had Root Canals or large fillings.
Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored, metal
free crowns) are the most popular, because they resemble your natural teeth.
We want to make your smile as genuine as possible and will not fill your mouth
full of metal!
Dental
Bridges
A dental bridge is
a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing
teeth. It can also help to maintain your facial shape, prevent remaining teeth
from moving, restore your chewing and speaking ability, and perfect your smile!
There are several different types of bridges. We will discuss all of the options
with you so that you can choose and get the exact smile that you want!
Dentures & Partials
Complete dentures are used to replace teeth when there are no teeth
remaining. The dentures are prefabricated acrylic teeth, which come in many
sizes, shapes, and shades. They are processed into a custom made base which
is made to intimately and comfortably fit the gum tissue in your mouth.
A partial denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth. It
is supported by your existing teeth and fills in those unwanted gaps. It will
help to regain the aesthetics and chewing and speaking functions that you require.
Full mouth denture treatments will involve the extraction of any remaining
teeth, making impressions to give that perfect, snug fit, and a final fitting
appointment. Partial dentures consist of appointments made to examine the health
of remaining teeth, taking impressions, and custom fitting the partial appliance.
